“A: Xero’s latest Small Business Insights show that sales figures for NZ businesses are on the up!”

The February 2026 results from the Xero Small Business Insights report show an increase in sales for many sectors across the final period of 2025.

"Sales in small businesses rose 4.8% year-on-year (y/y) in the December quarter, after a 2.8% y/y rise in the September quarter (revised up from 1.9% y/y initially reported). The December quarter result represents the largest rise in sales in three years."

Tactics to consider include:

  • Optimising your local SEO: Update your Google Business Profile to capture ‘near me’ searches from local Kiwi customers.

  • Automating your lead nurturing: add automated email sequences to engage your prospects immediately after they enter your digital sales funnel.

  • Making good use of social media: Feature video testimonials from New Zealand clients to build rapid trust and credibility.

  • Upselling to your existing clients: Increase revenue by offering complementary add-ons to your current, loyal customer base during checkout.

  • Shortening your response times: Use live chat tools to answer product queries instantly, significantly reducing your lead-to-sale conversion time.
